Built To Quit - Smoking and Tobacco Cessation Course

Our Built To Quit six-week smoking and tobacco cessation course offers access to the following resources:

  • Facilitators – Classes are led by a trained smoking and tobacco cessation facilitator.
  • Options – On-site or online classes are available. (Lunch/dinner provided for on-site classes)
  • Convenience – Afternoon and evening hours are available.
  • Telephone Counseling – Referrals to the Georgia Tobacco Quit Line (877-270-STOP).
  • Pharmaceutical Assistance – Free or reduced-cost nicotine replacement therapy (gum or patches) for those who qualify.
  • Support – Behavioral therapists, nutritionists, and respiratory therapists visit the group to provide added smoking and tobacco cessation support and guidance.
  • Mobile App (for Android and iPhone devices) - quitSTART, a product of Smokefree.gov.

Our six-week cessation classes educate you about the hazards of smoking and using other forms of tobacco, the benefits of quitting and the strategies and skills to cope with your urges.

Classes are offered during afternoon and evening hours. Remote/online options available. They are conducted primarily in a group setting, which allows you to learn from each other’s experiences.

A Northside Hospital trained smoking and tobacco cessation facilitator leads each class and behavioral health specialists, respiratory therapists and nutritionists “visit” the group to help provide you with support and guidance along the way. You will receive a class workbook and nicotine replacement therapy (if qualified).
