On Oct. 11, 2025, nearly 1,000 blood and marrow transplant and CAR T-cell therapy survivors reunited at the Georgia Aquarium to celebrate strength, resilience and hope. The event brought together patients, families and care teams from Northside Hospital Cancer Institute’s nationally recognized BMT Program.
Northside is home to one of the largest BMT programs in the Southeast, and is the only center in the United States to exceed predicted allogeneic one-year survival rates for 16 consecutive years — maintaining “above expected” outcomes from 2009 to 2024, according to NMDP and CIBMTR.
The reunion honored both clinical excellence and the personal journeys behind every transplant. As retired medical director Dr. Lawrence Morris shared, “There’s nothing more gratifying than someone being cured … It’s an honor to witness the courage and sacrifice of so many people in this room.”
