Northside Hospital Atlanta has been ranked No. 46 in the nation for cancer care and No. 2 in Georgia in U.S. News & World Report's 2026-2027 edition of Best Hospitals, earning a place among the nation's top 50 cancer programs. This marks the first time Northside Hospital Atlanta has achieved a national ranking in cancer.
The recognition reflects the strength of Northside Hospital Cancer Institute, Georgia's largest cancer network and one of the nation's largest community cancer programs, providing patients access to advanced treatments, clinical trials and comprehensive support services close to home.

The U.S. News Best Hospitals rankings serve as a starting point for patients and families, who should consult with their physicians when making specific healthcare decisions. U.S. News evaluated nearly 4,500 hospitals across 14 adult specialties and 23 procedures and conditions, with only 16% of evaluated hospitals earning a Best Hospitals designation.
In addition to its national ranking, Northside Hospital Atlanta was recognized as the No. 2 hospital in Georgia for cancer care. Overall, Northside hospitals earned High Performing ratings in several cancer-related procedures and conditions, including colon cancer surgery, gynecologic cancer surgery, leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, lung cancer surgery and prostate cancer surgery.
With the most board-certified oncologists in Georgia, Northside Hospital Cancer Institute diagnoses and treats more cancer cases than any other community health system in the state. Accredited as an Integrated Network Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, the program maintains a 95% likelihood of patients recommending its services to family and friends and delivers personalized care through a multidisciplinary team of cancer specialists.

Rankings are based on objective measures including patient outcomes, risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and patient experience. U.S. News analyzed data from more than 800 million patient care records in developing the rankings.
