Northside Hospital Atlanta has earned Nuclear/PET accreditation from the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission, reinforcing its commitment to high-quality cardiac imaging and patient care.
The accreditation recognizes the hospital’s excellence in nuclear cardiology, specifically in myocardial perfusion imaging. The designation is awarded to facilities that demonstrate compliance with rigorous national standards for quality, safety and consistency in diagnostic imaging.
By achieving this accreditation, Northside Hospital Atlanta joins a select group of providers nationwide recognized for their dedication to delivering accurate and reliable diagnostic results that support effective treatment of heart disease.
“It is important for us to make sure that we are maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency when carrying out advanced testing such as nuclear SPECT and PET imaging of the heart,” said Dr. John Ricketts, cardiologist at Northside Hospital Heart Institute. “The results of these tests are vital to our ability to appropriately manage heart disease in our patients and thus this accreditation by the IAC reinforces our ability to produce meaningful results for our patients and their physicians.”
The IAC accreditation process includes a comprehensive review of a facility’s imaging protocols, staff qualifications, equipment performance and quality assurance practices. Facilities must also demonstrate ongoing adherence to established standards to maintain accreditation status.
