Five babies born in the early hours of 2026 were the New Year’s babies at their respective Northside hospitals. 

Northside Hospital Atlanta 

Two babies shared the honor of being firstborn in the Northside system for the new year, both at six minutes after midnight at Northside Hospital Atlanta. 

Joy Lewis and Justin Parish of Duluth had a boy who weighed 5 pounds 15 ounces and measured 19 inches. At the same time, a boy weighing 7 pounds 6 ounces was born to Derby Benites-Mariena and Jeffer Garcia of Atlanta. Baby Benites-Garcia measured 22 inches.

Northside Hospital Cherokee

Leonardo Dexter Insalaca was the first baby born in the new year at Northside Cherokee. He was born at 12:18 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, to Princess Flanders and Charles Insalaca of Holly Springs. The newborn weighed 6 pounds 8 ounces and measured 18.5 inches.

Northside Hospital Gwinnett

Julian Alessandro Sanchez was born at 12:44 a.m. Jan. 1 to Jocelyn Martinez and Justin Sanchez at Northside Gwinnett. Julian weighed 5 pounds 9 ounces and measured 18.9 inches long.

Northside Hospital Forsyth

Samantha and Tristan Gruber welcomed Valerie at 1:32 a.m. at Northside Forsyth.
